Detection vs. redaction: Scanning and the type checklist above run in your browser. The actual redaction step uploads the file to our redaction engine, which rasterizes each page and permanently removes the underlying text layer (or, if that is not possible for a page, rewrites the text stream) — either way the original values are not recoverable from the output via copy-paste or text-extraction tools.
