What is the difference between profit margin and mark-up?

Profit margin is gross profit divided by the ex-VAT sale price, while mark-up is gross profit divided by cost. For a 100 cost and a 150 net price, the margin is 33.3% but the mark-up is 50%.

How does the VAT-included/excluded setting affect results?

The tool always computes profit on the net, ex-VAT price. If you enter a VAT-inclusive price and choose Incl, the price is stripped of VAT first; choosing Excl treats your figure directly as the net price.

How is gross profit calculated?

Gross profit is the ex-VAT sale price minus the product cost. VAT is left out of the profit base because collected VAT belongs to the tax authority and is not your income.

What does the Target Margin field do?

Any product whose margin falls below the target percentage you set is flagged: its card and margin value turn red and the mark-up bar shows red. This lets you instantly spot products that risk being unprofitable.

Can I analyze several products at once?

Yes. Use '+ Add Product' to add as many rows as you need and ✕ to remove them. The summary cards at the top show total monthly revenue, total monthly gross profit, and the average profit margin across products.

What drives the monthly profit and revenue projection?

Monthly profit is the unit gross profit multiplied by the monthly units you enter, and monthly revenue is the ex-VAT unit price times units. The figures scale with the sales volume you estimate.

Are these results enough for official accounting or tax filing?

No. The results are estimates for quick planning only and exclude costs such as shipping, marketplace commission, ads, and returns. For official profit-and-loss and tax decisions, consult your accountant and current regulations.
